Rubattino's Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into Rubattino's Restaurant on South 3rd Street, you’re greeted by the warm, familiar hum of a neighborhood diner refreshed with genuine care and personality. The pace here moves with the unhurried rhythm of mornings meant to be savored—whether you’re stopping by for a thoughtful breakfast or rolling in for a satisfying lunch. Natural light spills across tables where both regulars and newcomers settle in, sharing stories over steaming coffee cups and plates that feel like a comforting handshake from home.
The atmosphere blends a sense of effortless charm with the quiet pride of a freshly updated space, where local art adds color and character without overwhelming the relaxed vibe. It’s a spot anchored by friendly faces—owners and staff who know that moments around a meal often outshine any menu description. Their presence invites you to linger, to feel part of a community that values warmth as much as flavor.
On the plate, Rubattino's serves up the kind of hearty dishes that make waking up a little brighter. From fluffy, made-to-order eggs accompanied by crispy hashbrowns, to rich biscuits smothered in house-made gravy, the food feels rooted in comforting tradition but never stuck in the past. Coffee comes steaming, ready to be sipped alongside savory bites or a leisurely slice of their indulgent pancakes topped with fresh berries and whipped cream. The kitchen knows its neighborhood well—offering hearty classics alongside thoughtful touches like freshly cut garlic fries or a delicately spiced Bloody Mary that fits seamlessly into the slow, welcoming start of your day.
Rubattino’s isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a place to pause and reconnect, whether with friends marking a special morning or solo visitors finding solace in good food and inviting surroundings. The sense of care extends beyond the kitchen to the small moments—the quiet smiles, a surprise dessert for a birthday celebration, the easy chatter filling the room—capturing what makes this corner of Renton a fulfilling discovery worth returning to time and again.

A couple of my friends and I stumbled across Rubattino's this morning and had breakfast. My friend Tess's birthday. The food was out of this world great. Very tasty. I had the Country Benedict. The sausage gravy was the best. Potatoes were also excellent. Great, clean place with a wonderful artist atmosphere. The owner brought Tess a serving of Tres Leche to celebrate her birthday. Sooooo yummy...We will be going here on the regular. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

The new ownership has really made strides here to make this the new, go-to authentic diner for Renton. Food is amazing The owner, Alfonso, is absolutely lovely and the vibes are here. Definitely recommend. Been here twice for breakfast and lunch. Will keep coming!

Literally such amazing food!! Just opened 10 days ago and redid the restaurant. They had great portions at such good prices!! Was our lowest priced meal since our 6 day stay in Seattle and had delicious garlic fries and nachos. I ate the fries before I thought to take a pic But they were home cut fries smothered in garlic and shredded parmesan with a side of ranch! Huge, piping hot and absolutely amazing!! if you’re in the area you should go!! Support family owned and local!

Great to see this spot and the adjoining Owl Lounge refurbished and reopened under new ownership who show so much pride of place. I was warmly greeted by Alfonso, Mike, and Citlali, who are part of an even larger team. The place looks (and smells) great! The menu is a little light on veggie options, but they do offer a few yummy salads and homemade soup- yum! I’m looking forward to trying their breakfast menu- which includes a scratch biscuits and gravy that they promise will satisfy an aficionado. And the ice cream treats, too! DTR keeps getting more awesome.

this is our first time here since the remodel and it looks great! The retro look is lots of fun. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and a club sandwich. Both delicious. Menu has a lot to choose from. The potato salad was excellent! We will be back for sure.

Visited recently after the remodel, and this place is a hidden gem. The inside looks awesome, with a great old school diner feel that's also light bright and modern. The food was amazing, I had the vegetarian omelette and it was hands down the best omelette iv ever had, and my friend said the same of his. Both were full of flavor, decent portions, and cooked with fresh ingredients. Service was excellent, staff was attentive, and food came out quickly. This will become my new go to breakfast spot, and I cant wait to try lunch or dinner here.

They just reopened with new owners and a total remodel. Soft launch was 6/25. It looks great inside! Super clean. Food was still really good - we had breakfast. My daughter loved the fresh oj. The lounge looks nice, though they are still waiting on their liquor license. Definitely recommend checking it out!
